Consumer

Many of our commercial clients also have consumer debt as their secondary focus for market share growth. Brown & Joseph understands the importance of our client's focus and desire to work with a company that can provide a complete receivables recovery service. Understanding our client’s needs, Brown & Joseph established a consumer collection division in supporting our commercial clients.

We realize that consumer collections require thorough knowledge of many different industry's practices along with expertise of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

The Brown & Joseph consumer client base includes, but is not limited to: companies engaged in credit card processing, utilities, insurance, rental (goods & housing), financing (primary and secondary), retail and medical industries. Intimate knowledge of an industry's language, trends, seasonal changes, etc. is a good start. But, the key to success is to be able to accurately assess the consumer’s ability and willingness to pay and implement a strategy to accomplish the goals set forth together with our clients.

Through our years of service and memberships in professional collection organizations, we have gained a thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This law dictates how a consumer debtor is contacted (in writing or telephone), what can be said, how it is said and how often contacts can be made.

Among the tools we utilize to achieve the desired results are: consumer credit scoring and analysis, in depth analysis of payment and credit history, letter series used early, mid and/or late depending upon the age of the debt,  personal contact via phone, fax and email and litigation.

A comprehensive strategy, developed with the knowledge of our client’s objectives, create a valuable partnership that is critical for success.
